High Head in the Rain
Wentworth, 12 April 2003

back to 1st Tata

It was a little wet, in fact it was pouring for a while. The first half of the hike was straight up hill but at least the effort kept us warm. Due to the clouds, the view was disappointing but we used our imagination. Downhill the boys were in much better cheer - the going was easier but also we had some fun sliding in the snow and dancing the steep parts. Not wanting to go back exactly the same way that we had gone up, we bushed whacked through the woods and hit right on the back of the Shell station. It was approxiamately a 45 minute hike to the top, maybe a half hour coming down.

On a better day, we might have pushed on across the top of High Head. Instead we drove around to the Scott Road ( first road past Handle Factory Road) and drove right up to the top of the waterfalls. We don't know yet what the name of these falls is but they sure are spectacular.
