Hike to Waterfalls on White Brook
Near Earltown, 12 October 2002

back to 1st Tata

This hike, organised at the last minute, was enjoyed by three scouts, one prospective scout, two leaders and a parent. The hike is not long (~45 minutes) but one section is very steep and where the trail crosses the Brook you have to be careful not to get a wet foot. It is a very beautiful hike under the canopy of autumn leaves, and following the brook through a deep moss-carpeted gorge to an awesome cascade of water. The boys very much enjoyed exploring the steep river banks above the falls.

The first three photos were intended to show landmarks on the trail but they also show the beauty of the woods.

Don't take the first left, uphill fork.  At the second fork, go left, uphill.  At the end of the trail (you'll see this large moss- covered rock), head towards the gorge/brook.
